Updated On: Feb 19, 2011

On Tuesday, May 29, 2007, the Missouri Supreme Court reached a decision which provides "Collective Bargaining Rights" to Public Sector Employees.  The Supreme Court rendered this decision after the Indepence Chapter of the NEA (National Education Association) filed a lawsuit.  The Court reversed and remanded Article I, Section 29 of the State Constitution - which guarantees that "employees shall have the right to organize and to bargain collectively through representatives of their own choosing" - applies to "Public Employees" who brought this case as well as as to "Private Sector Employees".
